Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is amongst the biggest causes of death in the UK, with over 140,000 people dying from Sudden Cardiac Arrest every year in the UK. If an SCA occurs outside of hospital, there is only a 5% chance of survival without early defibrillation.
This makes early defibrillation a key part of the chain of survival and the reason why there has been such a publicity drive for placing defibrillators not only in public places, but also in workplaces. The devices are fool proof and can be used by any non-medically trained person to help save a life, with the chances of survival rising up to ~70% if defibrillation is achieved within the first 3 minutes of an SCA.
Barber offer two of the market leading public access defibrillators. Even though the devices can be used by any non-medically trained person, if/when you do use one, they need to be as easy and helpful to use as possible. That is why we offer the Zoll AED Plus and the iPAD SP1 defibrillators, both of which have partnered with the British Heart Foundation as their chosen devices. These life saving devices are available in both semi-automated and fully automatic depending on the users’ level of comfort in using a defibrillator.
We also offer a range of first aid supplies, including first aid kits, eye wash kits, tapes, dressings and swabs.
